Welcome to Whitchurch Bowling Club in 2025!

We are still basking in the glow of our Centenary celebrations from last year, which brought our community together through a series of unforgettable events. From our delightful trips to Windsor and Hampshire to our tour of Devon, along with the engaging Murder Mystery night and the grand Centenary dinner at The Village Hotel, each occasion was a testament to our rich history and vibrant community spirit.

As we move into this new season, we are excited to share that both of our Saturday sides achieved remarkable success in the Centenary year, gaining promotion! We also reached the Quarter-Final of the prestigious all Wales Carruthers Shied. Our teams will now proudly compete in Division 1 and Division 3 of the Welsh Private Greens League respectively. With this achievement, we look forward to an action-packed schedule filled with outstanding fixtures and another exciting tour.

We would like to extend our gratitude to our Paul Mitchell, the South Glamorgan Past President, who, during his time in office, raised over £3,000 for our neighbours at Velindre Cancer Centre. His dedication and leadership have truly made a positive impact on both our club and the wider community.

After some challenging years and extensive work by our contractors and green maintenance team, we are thrilled to report that our playing surface is once again among the best in Wales.

In addition to the action on the green, we invite you to enjoy the many social opportunities available to connect with fellow members from our local community and opponents from near and far, all in our beautifully renovated, spacious, and well-ventilated bar and outdoor areas.

This vibrant season is the perfect time for anyone interested in trying Lawn Bowls. We encourage newcomers to join us for free coaching sessions held every Friday at 4:30 PM, where our excellent coaches will help you get started. Whether you’re seeking fresh air, exercise, or an introduction to competitive bowls, we welcome you.

If you’re interested in joining us or have any questions, please reach out to Mark Wheadon at 07800 825386, Jim Harrison at 07968 279550, or email Tony Atherton at tony.athertons1@gmail.com.
